Even though his name isn’t discussed like those of Jagger, McCartney and company, Jon Spencer is a sort of legend. Over a 30-year career, he forged and defended a sound that has stood the test of time in the world of rock.
Jon Spencer founded The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion with Judah Bauer and Russell Simins in 1991. With successive albums, they slightly refined their punk blues recipe, but that recipe still animates the fury that gave the trio its reputation as monsters of rock. And the beast disembarks at the Impérial as part of an evening that festivalgoers won’t soon forget!
