The rock supergroup project created by Tobias Sammett (leader of Edguy), which was supposed to be short-lived, is now in its 13th year and has been enormously successful in Europe. Up to now, more than 50 musicians have contributed to Avantasia’s five albums, including members of Stratovarius, Symphony X, Angra, Gamma Ray and Helloween.
Fans of symphonic heavy metal, circle the date Avantasia plays at the Parc de la francophonie on your calendars, because it’s the only concert they’re giving in Canada this year.
