Alaclair Ensemble is a strange beast. A show for them, in their specially-created vocabulary—glossary and all—is a “brizassage de fizzoules” (public performance). They graduated from Alaclair High and regularly shout out “Champagne, caviar!” More importantly, in their minds, Quebec is Lower Canada, and they don’t do Quebec rap, they do “postrigodon” (post-trad). In short, the group inhabits a crazy, code-language world to which many fans now belong. The group’s DJ set will be featured at the beginning and the end of the evening.
