Louis-Jean Cormier took a simplified approach to making his first album away from the Karkwa clan. With Le treizième étage, this musician from Sept-Îles has taken a departure from the Karkwa sound, favouring purified arrangements and an intimate tone. His choices resulted in one of the best albums of 2012. A darling among critics and music lovers alike for several years now, he has become a revelation for the Quebec public in recent months.
