Though the charismatic Alison Mosshart sometimes likes to let loose with Jack White’s Dead Weather, she always comes back to her roots: the raw and bluesy rock of The Kills, with her buddy Jamie Hince. It’s no surprise that the duo cites Velvet Underground and Patti Smith as influences. Although more punk, The Kills still plays in the groove etched by these two rock icons of the 70s.
