To the delight of jazz fans, internationally renowned bassist Alain Caron will be appearing at the Festival de Jazz de Québec to promote his seventh album entitled Sep7entrion. Three years after the release of the delicious Conversations with Loraine Desmarais, Alain Caron - voted Best Electric Bass Player by Canadian magazine The Jazz Report eight years running - renews his roots with jazz fusion. Backed by Damien Schmitt on drums, Pierre Côté on guitar and John Roney on keyboards, the master of the electric bass and six-string bass virtuoso delivers a platter of muscular pieces, fuelled by his passion for jazz-rock. His outstanding body of work has earned him ten Félix awards, one Gémeau award, the prestigious Oscar Peterson Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as an honorary doctorate.
