A self-taught musician and one of the few female guitarists on today’s jazz scene, New York’s Michelle Marie Nestor has played on stages in the Dominican Republic and in Tuscany, as well as at the legendary Birdland and Blue Note Jazz Club in New York. For her Québec show, she’ll be interpreting some of the standards, in particular by Wayne Shorter and Cole Porter, to which she brings her personal touch. She will also give us some original compositions from her new album to be released this fall. Marie Michelle Nestor will be accompanied by talented musicians Adrian Vedady on the contrabass and Claude Lavergne on drums.
