Phillip Phillips

While touring the U.S. and beyond throughout last year, singer/guitarist Phillip Phillips kept up the craft of songwriting, a passion driven by his lifelong passion for rugged, rootsy, Rock-and-Roll music.

In the summer 2011, with much encouragement from his family and friends, the then20-year-old Phillips took a break from working in his family’s pawnshop to audition for the eleventh season of American Idol. After tearing through full-throated performances of songs by artists like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Wilson Pickett on the Idol stage, Phillips finished out the season as its winner. Released the same day that he claimed his victory, “Home” marked the most successful coronation song of any Idol winner—as well as the highest-ever debut on the Billboard Digital songs chart, with 278,000 downloads sold.In 2012, The World from the Side of the Moon, a platinum-plus-selling album that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured the 5x platinum smash hit “Home”, was released.

Opening Act : Jack Lavoie Band

Jack Lavoie grew up in Quebec City and was raised in an active and creative, bi-cultural and bilingual family. True to the classic story, he first fell into music with his brother as a teenager when they pooled their resources and shared a single guitar. Lavoie followed his fingers and heart into writing, composing and performing his own songs.

This path led him to record his debut album New Warning in 2003 and from this album his song REASON was awarded an honorable mention in the 2004 John Lennon Song Writing Contest. Released in July 2006, Lavoie’s second album La Pura Vida produced two Billboard World Song Contest acclaimed songs in A Fine Summer’s Day and The Simple Things.

On June 1st, 2009, Lavoie launched his song for peace Bring Your Boys Home from the John and Yoko suite at Montreal’s Queen Elisabeth Hotel to mark the 40 th anniversary of John and Yoko’s recording of Give Peace a Chance. His song HEAL was chosen to be a part of the David Suzuki’s 2011 Playlist for the Planet.

Lavoie is currently working on his third album Out of the Box with his friend and accomplice Stephan Desbiens. The album will be released as a series of singles throughout 2014.
