With an approach combining the brute force of White Stripes and the intensity of Led Zeppelin, Royal Blood made a splash the minute its self-titled album was released last year. Europe then discovered what Mike Kerr (bass, vocals) and Ben Thatcher (drums) were capable of on stage, especially audiences at the Reading, T in the Park and Glastonbury festivals. They topped off this first crazy year by receiving the BRIT Award for best band. Yes, there are only two of them, but Royal Blood proves that no stage is big enough when you add the required energy and volume. Will the Plains stage be up to the task?
