Born in Québec City to a Paraguayan father and Mexican mother, Boogat plays urban world fusion laced with a continuous blend of hip-hop, reggaeton and Latin rhythms. Backed by Montréal producer Poirier, he released an electro tropical-inspired album in 2013 called El Dorado Sunset, winner of two Felix awards that same year. After a surprise collaboration with pop singer Marie-Mai, Daniel Russo Garrido is returning to Festival d’été de Québec with his inimitable Hispanic energy. He’ll also be playing brand new material released this spring.
