In the wake of the legendary James Brown and signed with Sharon Jones’ New York label, Charles Bradley is the unsung prodigal son of American soul music. Gabriel Roth of Daptone Records discovered this Florida-born artist in a little Brooklyn club when the singer was already in his early sixties, getting by on small jobs. Thus started the fabulous late-blooming career of this Otis Redding disciple, who blows the audience away every time he hits the stage with his signature mixture of suave charisma and deep soul.
