For the past 15 years, this Brooklyn band backed by the prestigious label Daptone (Sharon Jones), has continued to share the afro-beat heritage with an ever-growing audience. In the summer of 2008, they even played in the musical Fela! (about the life of Fela Kuti). In 2012, the release of a self-titled album heralded the band’s great comeback, and they’re sounding as funky and solid as ever.
