Formerly part of the now defunct band Hôtel Morphée, the Montreal singer-songwriter leaves behind alternative rock sonorities for a younger, more electronic sound, rich in textures. Largely inspired by Scandinavian pop (Fever Ray, Lykke Li), and also by the latest trends in women’s hip-hop (Santigold, Azealia Banks), Laurence Nerbonne creates a connection between the languid softness of intimacy and the glittering excitement of the discotheque.
