A former professional basketball player, Flo Rida has been into rap since he was a teenager. Still a minor, he created his first hip-hop band, Grounghoggz, which was a local success in the 1990s. He went on to open for artists such as Scarface. Subsequently he became known to the general public through guest appearances with Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and Trick Daddy. Like Snoop Dogg and P Diddy, he is also an entrepreneur whose way of life reflects the lifestyle of the self-made American man.
