Besides opening the way for groups as innovative as Jane’s Addiction, Faith No More and Rage Against the Machine, authenticity has always been the guiding principle of Red Hot Chilli Peppers. With a brand new album and a world tour, 2016 is shaping up to be a great comeback for this joyful band of eccentrics. Renowned for their non-stop live performances, the troupe of Flea and Anthony Keidis is a kind of hybrid between punk, funk and California-flavoured rock. Needless to say, expectations are high, considering the subversive and iconoclastic spirit of this band, a highly anticipated addition to this year’s Festival d’été de Québec.
