Reunion, World
The Ziskakan adventure, born of a desire to feature the Creole language and the richness of Reunionese culture, started in the late 1970s on Reunion Island. Ziskakan has been working hard for nearly four decades, during which time they released a dozen or so albums, including their latest, Romans pou Rico (2016), a collection of 18 live titles recounting the band’s musical history. The rhythms they offer represent the cultural diversity of the Island: Indian music, African percussions and Creole lyrics…a refreshing and lively melting pot.
