The Anglo-Montréal duo Co/ntry continues in the synthpop direction of Failure, combining post-punk and new-wave on their latest offering Cell Phone 1. The unclassifiable Beaver Sheppard and David Whitten create spontaneous music, where breakneck tinkering meets catchy rhythms thanks to producer Emmanuel Éthier (Chocolat). An inventive and unpredictable sound, and definitely a discovery worth making before the rumour spreads for good on the international scene.
