A true reference for alternative rock in Québec, in 2014 Chocolat moved from a vaguely retro sixties sound to much more expansive psychedelia on the album Tss Tss. After the solo adventures of singer-songwriter Jimmy Hunt, their latest album Rencontrer Looloo is in the realm of “hard-franco-prog modal with tones of punk and folk”. Between glam and soft rock, this band, totally at ease with their difference, has definitely not finished surprising us.
