After hundreds of shows around the planet, Voivod has nothing more to prove in the world of metal. Starting in the early 1980s in Jonquière, their blend of punk-hardcore, British metal and progressive rock made it a unique band, quickly appreciated in the milieu. The first Canadian band of its kind to export thier sound, this quartet even recruited Jason Newsted on bass (better known as a member of Metallica from 1986 to 2001). With over 30 years of career and a discography of 15 studio albums, Voivid is definitely a rare phenomenon.
