Together on stage and in life for over 30 years, Amadou and Mariam have long been nicknamed “The blind couple of Mali”. Since the release of their first album in 1998, the duo has continued to rise in popularity, especially with the release of Dimanche à Bamako in 2004, a hugely successful album produced in collaboration with Manu Chao. Their well-deserved reputation has had them opening for such big names as Blur, Coldplay and U2, and they’ve headlined all over the world. After a first, much appreciated visit to FEQ in 2013, Amadou et Mariam are back to light up the hearts of festival-goers again with their luminous and festive music, a fabulous fusion of traditional and modern sounds, celebrating Mali and all of Africa.
