A young quartet from Québec City, Émeraude is a gem of dreamy synth pop that we haven’t heard the last of. Their musical adventure started in 2013, when singer-songwriter Marie-Renée Grondin set herself the ambitious goal of writing one song per month, which led to the formation of the band. Rounded out by Philippe-Emmanuel Grattarola on guitar, Jean-François Breton on bass and Simon Tam on electro rhythms, the band released its first eponymous mini-album in 2016, earning a GAMIQ nomination the same year in the category of “Best Pop EP”.
