Sa dernière visite remonte en 2008, lors de sa sortie de Soft Airplane. On l'attendait de pied ferme ce retour de M.VanGaalen à Québec! Son plus récent projet, Diaper Island, poursuit l'évolution artistique vers un son plus rock, mais toujours propre à Chad.

Aussi reconnu en arts visuels pour avoir produit les clips de J Mascis et de Holy Fuck, il entrecoupe son temps à diriger l'étiquette de disques Flemish Eye (Women, Jennifer Castle, Braids), depuis sa maison de Calgary. En soit un événement !
