Inna Modja is the girl with the velvety voice and the feline eyes… ‘French Cancan’, the hit of the summer of 2011 in France, was nominated for a Victoires de la musique in the category Popular Music Revelation of the Year. The first track on her second album, it’s truly a cure for the blues. In a blend of pop and soul, this fresh and witty young singer-songwriter loves to play with words in both English and French. Born in Bamako, Mali, Inna ‘s dream was to become a singer, and at the age of 15, Salif Keita directed her toward the famed Super Rail Band, and she sang with them for a year. At 18, she moved to Paris, where she studied languages and literature, worked as a model, painted and worked in film. This talented self-taught artist learned to play music by ear.
