Élie Yaffa was born on December 9, 1976 in Boulogne-Billancourt in the Hauts-de-Seine, to a Senegalese father and Franco-Moroccan mother. Influenced by the American hip-hop scene of the 1980s and early 1990s, Mobb Deep, and the Wu-Tang Clan, his albums all feature the dark melodies and raw lyrics typical of New York rap.
