Unlike most of his contemporaries, this veteran of Canada's hip hop scene delivers a message that is generally positive and plays rock instruments (guitar and drums) in concert. His sound, a blend of hip hop and its sub-genres, contemporary reggae, pop and rock, reinforces this difference.
Over the years, the Toronto rapper has earned a spot on Canadian charts and his shows just keep getting bigger. His work with top Canadian artists like Emily Haines (Metric), Murray Lightburn (The Dears), Feist, Buck 65 and Nelly Furtado show that today, k-os has made a name well beyond his own backyard.
