Loney, Dear is the pseudonym of multi-instrumentalist Emil Svanängen, who was first widely known for his album Loney, Noir in 2007. Yet Svanängen had already released four albums in as many years in his native Sweden. Did somebody say prolific?
Expansive and smooth, Loney, Dear's folk pop evokes the melancholy and the beauty of the vast Scandinavian lands. These characteristics are even more present in Hall Music, his latest album, with richer instrumentation and grandiloquent arrangements. In any case, the quality of Loney, Dear's songs alone make this an outstanding show that you won't want to miss.
