Radio Radio's popularity operates on many levels. First, there's the slang they use, called chiac, that seems to be made just for rap. Then there's that neat Acadian accent that you never get tired of hearing, plus their wonderfully abstract lyrics that people love to repeat just for the sound of them.
Their music, with its rap, hip-hop and electro influences, is perfectly attuned to the lyrics by Jacques Alphonse Doucet, Arthur Comeau and Gabriel Louis Bernard Malenfant. On stage, their boisterous show goes way beyond a simple rap performance. After the huge success of their second album, Belmundo Regal, Radio Radio comes to the Festival with Hâvre de Grâce (released in April), an album that lots of fans probably already know by heart!
