As their name says, the band was formed in Osaka in 1992, but the only thing Japanese about Osaka Monaurail is its nine members, because the band plays solid funk from the likes of James Brown and Isaac Hayes. Starting out with no fewer than 20 musicians, they had to downsize to play on smaller bar stages...
The instrumental prowess of Osaka Monaurail is spiked with vocals by band leader Nakata Ryo, the Japanese James Brown, whose entertainment value can't be beat!
