The founder of Bombolesse´, Julien A´lvarez Thomet, was born in Cuba to a French father and a Spanish mother. He grew up in Brazil and ended up in Montreal, where he was able to draw on the city's cultural diversity. This is the background that shaped the musical identity of Bombolessé.
The septet's multiple musical allegiances result in a “Brazilianized” mix of funk, rock and African music with the rhythms and colors of Brazil and lyrics sung in French, Portuguese, Spanish and Creole. Imagine what a delicious cocktail this stirs up in concert!
