The term “artist” is sometimes overblown, but when it comes to Ontario's Sarah Slean it couldn't be more appropriate. She has produced eight albums, played in two short films as well as a musical comedy, published two books of poetry and has paintings in a number of art galleries. Not too shabby at just 34 years of age!
On her latest album, Land & Sea, Sarah Slean brought the lyrical sound of the best musical comedies to her pop songs by integrating orchestral arrangements Rufus Wainwright-style (who she has played with) or like Kate Bush. An experiment that she pulled off with brio: the critics and the public both loved it. Already a name in English Canada, Sarah Slean is ready to take on Québec!
