In 2008, the FrancoFolies handed this icon of French
chanson a musical
carte blanche. Four years later, he returns with his magnificent voice, melodies encoded in our collective memory, a crowd-rallying repertoire immune to the passage of time. In this North American premiere of his new show, we eagerly await such timeless classics as
Fais comme l'oiseau,
Une belle histoire,
La fête and
Bravo, Monsieur le Monde, but also songs from his new album,
Bon an, mal an, marking the first time in his career that he's written both lyrics and music-and these are undoubtedly some of his best! Opening the show, Aurélie Cabrel, eldest daughter of another icon of French
chanson, makes her first appearance on a Francos stage.
