He undoubtedly holds the record for most Festival appearances, having missed one single edition since 1980: and indefatigable Montreal pianist, arranger and conductor Vic Vogel has therefore performed in every configuration imaginable-from a trio to a Big Band, with a pit-stop in a nonet-and with a most remarkable array of collaborators-Mel Tormé, Maynard Ferguson, Oliver Jones and Karen Young. As incandescent as ever, this winner of the 1992 Oscar Peterson Award will be delighted to take us all on a trip with his Cuban project, accompanied by 15 musicians.
