Dr. Lonnie Smith (or "Turbanator" because of the turban he wears at concerts) was born July 3, 1942 in Lackawanna, New York. Recognized as an outstanding Hammond B3 player, he was part of the George Benson quartet founded in 1966. During his long career, he played with Kenny Garrett, Lee Morgan, John Abercrombie, Joe Lovano, Ron Carter, Dizzy Gillespie and many others. He is considered a living legend of jazz and his visit to Montreal is clearly a major event. Not to be missed!
