A Festival regular and darling of the blues scene, Canadian Harry Manx hosts a high-level intercultural musical exchange at the Festival. The versatile multi-instrumentalist marries Indian classical music to southern blues, and welcomes several musicians who share his passion for sonic globe-trotting: Yeshe, who conquered L'Astral this past winter and demonstrated his equal mastery of guitar, percussion and such African instruments as the mbira and n'goni, Australian keyboardist Clayton Doley, and Indian-born singer Kiran Ahluwalia (
Jazz All-Year Round 2011). An exotic musical voyage!
