Eight and a Half adds up to two + one here. Two as in Dave Hamelin and Liam O’Neill from The Stills, the Montreal indie rock band that broke up last year. Plus one as in Justin Peroff from Toronto's Broken Social Scene, the well-known Canadian indie collective that has produced such great talent.
The three could have chosen to keep playing their same style, but they took advantage of this fresh start to trade their guitars for keyboards and samplers. Their foray into ethereal ambiances and contrasting beats resulted in a first album that was a critical success across the board.
Much more than a revival of three “ex's”, Eight and a Half has quickly made its own name with electro pop fans in the know!
