In 2003, the Great Lake Swimmers vaunted their music's rural roots by recording their self-named debut album in an abandoned Southern Ontario silo. The response from both fans and the trade media was immediate, culminating in 2009 in nominations for the Junos and the Canadian Folk Music Awards for Lost Channels.
If you don't already know the Great Lake Swimmers, but you like Neil Young, Cowboy Junkies or Red House Painters, you won't be able to resist their country/Americana style of indie folk. After their successful first Festival appearance in 2010, the Toronto-based quintet is happy to be back with music from their most recent album, New Wild Everywhere.
