Cavalia’s equestrian odyssey continues and its new production carries the name ODYSSEO. A new tribute to horses and the relationship humans have shared with them for thousands of years, ODYSSEO is an invitation to dream, to travel beyond the boundaries of time and space and to journey toward the mystery of new horizons and cultures while contemplating the beauty of the world. Preview performances of ODYSSEO will begin September 17 and the world premiere will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, in Laval.

The notions of journey, bonding and adventure inspired the title ODYSSEO. For Normand Latourelle, Cavalia’s President and Artistic Director, “It’s only because of horses that humans were able to imagine that they could travel to the ends of the world. A powerful and natural wonder, this animal enabled mankind to build bridges between cultures, to create alliances among peoples and, thus, to roam the planet. He has been one of the most important instruments in the evolution of humanity. This is the essence of ODYSSEO.”

ODYSSEO will be presented under the world’s largest touring big top, two-and-a-quarter times larger than Cavalia’s original tent. The immense theatre, with no obstructed views, houses a 2,500-square-metre stage. Surrounded by projections and visual effects, 69 horses and 55 artists will embark together on a journey and travel through the greatest wonders nature has to offer. ABOUT CAVALIA
