One of the most active large jazz ensembles in Canada, the Joe Sullivan Big Band will perform in Quebec for a first time. With three albums to his credit, numerous major concert appearances and several distinctions, among which grants from the Canadian arts council, and two nominations for a Prix Opus, Montreal trumpeter Joe Sullivan, accompanied by his musicians, will present his compositions at the prestigious Ballroom of Château Frontenac. The band of five saxophones, five trumpets, four trombones and a rhythm section (piano, bass, drums), puts great emphasis on the rich heritage of orchestral jazz. The talent from Quebec is very well represented, with an all-star cast including Rémi Bolduc, André Leroux, Aaron Doyle and the young trombone virtuoso Jean-Nicolas Trottier. This unique event will be preceded by a Sunday brunch. Gourmets and music lovers will undoubtedly reach satisfaction for this Sunday brunch and big band at the Château!
