Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier is the largest multi-purpose concert hall in Canada, featuring the most state-of-the-art technical equipment and facilities. Built in 1963, the hall was first known as the Grande Salle before being renamed in honour of the eminent conductor Wilfrid Pelletier. Featuring a seating capacity of 2,990, the hall's versatility makes it the ideal venue for all types of performances and presentations from opera to rock, dance to symphony to musical comedy. In addition to the multitude of acclaimed international artists it showcases each year, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier is home to three world renowned resident companies : the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal and L'Opéra de Montréal.
