Sainte-Famille
Over a century old, the Maison de nos Aïeux is set in a picturesque lanscape and invites you for a tour of the Isle. This old presbytery has been restored with utmost respect to its original architecture and converted to an interpretation centre.
The Maison de nos Aïeux is the only spot on the Isle to offer an overview of the Isle’s history and of the lives of its inhabitants, through a series of exhibits.
Discover the Family First! exhibit (« La famille avant tout! »), unveiling some family history throughout three centuries of settlement on the Isle. Navigate through the different facts and events which have

spotlight, a miniature model of the Isle illustrates division of the land by the first families having inhabited the Isle, the founding families. Listen to their descendents tell their tale, the tale of their land and of their home.
Finally, take a trip back in time when parishioners idolized yet feared one person : the parish priest. Bring to light these mythical places that are presbyteries. Discover artifacts, manuscripts, blueprints and photographs from these noble buildings. Be a bit of voyeur and sneak a peak inside the bedroom of clergyman Côté, the priest of Sainte-Famille up until 1951 !
The Maison de nos Aïeux opens up its photo album for you. Old photographs of the Isle from the 19th and 20th centuries will let you in on our history, on our Isle. Discover the resident’s day-to-day life prior to the construction of the bridge and birth of industrial farming.
