Pianist Lorraine Desmarais' reputation for her solo, trio and big band performances extends beyond Canada to the United States, Mexico, Europe, China, Indonesia and Africa. She hit the Canadian jazz scene in 1984 with a first prize at the Festival International de jazz de Montréal. She now has eleven albums of original compositions to her name. At Largo on July 12, she'll present the grand premier of her latest release, Couleurs de lune, already acclaimed by the critics. On this album of original music, Lorraine Desmarais plays alongside her loyal companions, double bass player Frédéric Alarie and drummer Camil Bélisle.
