Saxophonist Yannick Rieu's trio, with Sylvain Provost on guitar and Rémi-Jean Leblanc on double bass, explores the extensive repertoire of French and francophone song. From Barbara to Trenet and including Vigneault, Gainsbourg, Brel, Ferré, Leclerc and Piaf, this trio's original approach breathes new life into popular and lesser-known songs. Quebeckers obviously have close ties to French song, and this jazz interpretation of popular tunes is intended to be both contemporary and accessible.
