Matt Steven belongs to a new generation of very innovative guitarists: Glilad Kakselman, Mike Moreno, Kurt Rosenwinkle. Musician native of Toronto, he is now established in New York. He rose to prominence in 2008 within Christian Scott’s group, helping to create the overall sound of the album Anthem, strongly inspired by the devastation left by hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Since then, Scott’s fame is steadily increasing. His music offers a happy mixture of various musical sources: jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul and rock. Steven has released his first album this year. He will thus perform several parts of it, surrounded with Vincente Archer at the double bass, Eric Doob to the drums and Christian Scott, who exceptionally joins the trio for the concert in Quebec.
